So you've never been called for jury duty ever before? I would be happy to let you take my place the next time I get called. My jury duty last year was much like Amy's, I was called in to be questioned but after a few hours the defendant changed his mind about something and we were all dismissed.

The worst part was waiting around to be called, sitting in the big room with all the, shall I say "interesting" people. After asking for directions to the jury room in the courthouse and following all the little arrows that pointed the way and walking past the big sign that said "Jury Duty", I shuffled past hundreds of people to find one of the few empty seats. And as soon as I sat down, the man next to me leans over and seriously asks me if I'm " Here for Jury Duty?" That's when I knew it was going to be a long day...

Aw, bummer. I'd imagine you WOULD have enjoyed the experience.

(I had my first actual Jury Duty experience last year, and it took about 4 hrs. I never got called to the Jury Box, but did get into the Courtroom to hear the questioning of those who were called up. Part of this was boring and tiresome, yet part of it was very interesting as well.)

I'll keep my "finger's crossed" for you for next time! hehe
